Congratulations to our KidWind Challenge Team they placed 2nd in the high school division and received an award called the “Spirit of KidWind” Saturday!
The competition consists of students building a wind turbine to measure voltage output on the design of turbine and blade design. In the Team “quick” Challenge they were judged on how they problem solved and worked as a team. They also had to present and explain to a panel of judges how they came up with the blade design, and what problems they had to overcome as a team.
The team designed and tested different types of blades for the turbine. Each team member came up with a blade design, and they tested them in a wind tunnel Saturday morning and then competed with the best design that afternoon.
